BOH Ship to Store Terminal

Managing inventories in retail is perhaps one of the most important operational aspects in retail operations.  When an organization reaches significant scale they can achieve logistical capability to inexpensively move inventory from store to store to meet customer demand, ship to store or balance stock across their retail operations.  When National Retailer developed a software solution to enable the management and process they required the compute capability in each of their stores.  A simple field services solution but it required planning, scheduling and services documentation and testing.

Plan

Consult with Customer to develop a Fast Track solution.

Build

Furnish Material:  TIA Certified Category 5 Cable, CAT 5 B Jacks, and conduit stocked to installation team.  PC Terminal and Printer Imaged and Configured for each store.

Stage electrical conduit and receptacles for just in time shipment for contingency electrical adds.

Installation:  Assured that electrical and data cable conduit is not intermingled.  Cable was pulled in new conduit.  Terminated at far end to jack and near end to patch panel.  Cable was tagged to identify usage for the BoH Ship to Store Terminal.  Terminal and Printer was set and tested.  Temporary power was utilized when power was not available.

Additional electrical service was extended as required for Ship to Store Terminal.

Operate

Cable tested for TIA compliance and results recorded to customer database for future reporting.

PC and Printer tested for network connectivity.  Assets recorded with model number and serial number.

Project completed with full reporting on services time stamp (start/stop), arrive/depart and photo documentation.
